For 35 years we have suggested using a DSC precision Grayscale/Color bars on-the-set as the ideal production reference.
Major producers have done this for some years, because it saves them time and money |

Now the sturdy, but lightweight SlateMate provides DSC's primary colors, along with our patented neutral grayscale every time you slate a scene.
What shooting SlateMate on-the-set does:
Provides a colorist with scientifically designed precision colors and neutral grayscale
Enables more consistent scene-to-scene color matching
Simplifies special effects by providing an accurate reference to which color and other deviations can be applied
Potential for reducing costs through increased efficiency
Peace of mind knowing that you are using the "industry standard" (not our words) test colors and grayscale.
What SlateMate can't do:
To be useful, SlateMate must be shot under the primary lighting of the scene - i.e. not in a dark corner lit with a Maglight.
How can I get a SlateMate?
From leading rental houses when you lease a Denecke slate or, if you own your own slate, directly from DSC.
To protect the integrity of our clients and DSC, SlateMates are only available through the DSC EcoAlign program, because -
There's only one thing worse than not using a test chart - that's using an inaccurate one!
